3 in 1 project (still a work in progress)
The media states what it is and what it isn't. The Bible says it is everything God has made. It can be found in the eye of the beholder, no matter what culture or opinion. Beauty can be found in each person, appearing differently each way, changing with each generation.
The first part of the project is a "beauty timeline", showing the changes of the hottest babes over the past century. Showing the changes of who was (at least one) of the most attractive women of their time.
Part two references cultural beauty practices and how Hollywood tends to Americanize it in some way. Fashion designers are always looking back to the traditional African/Asian customs to make a popular trend in our society. Diminishing the meaning whether it be a sign of beauty, or of coming of age and respect to something that you can buy that is overpriced and will most likely be thrown away in a year or so.
Finally the third part of this project is a representation of inner beauty. The Mona Lisa is known to be a beautiful figure, while the Elephant Man is a hideous sight to behold. Even though he was out-casted for this, inside he was one of the most sweetest men to ever live. He befriended members of the royal family and built churches out of cards. He was truly the meaning to the statement that "you can't judge a book by its cover."
